Momma said wonk you out

"I WANT JON STEWART TO SMILE AGAIN."

Gerry Canavan directs me to the only endorsement that matters: XKCD comes out for Barack Obama.

See Ezra, he's not a Paul-bot after all.

Indeed Chris, disaster averted. By the way, your Captcha system is totally unreadable.

"Space is on the verge of becoming an adventure again, Windows Vista is flopping, and Mario Kart will be out for the Wii soon. I think the future will be okay."

And XKCD, in turn largely swayed by the Lessig endorsement. Maybe these things do matter?

Yeah, but will Jon Stewart smile at all after 2008? OK, he's a professional, but will we smile watching him? I just can't imagine that the Daily Show will be the same with a Dem. in the White House, esp. one who actually tries to govern the country in a responsible manner. Is the price worth paying ... ?

There are always humorous Republican scandals to cover. Larry "Wide Stance" Craig under any other administration is still Larry "Wide Stance" Craig.

I don't think we really need to hand-wring about The Daily Show and a Dem White House. More important is getting a deal for the writers so they can work again.

The daily show is not about doing political commentary. it is about doing commentary on political commentary.

I don't expect Fox News or Lou Dobbs to magically stop being idiots. I'm sure it'll still be relevant.

(And +1 to settling the writer's strike...)

The Daily Show is pretty good at skewering Dems too.

Washington is a "target-rich environment". I'm not worried about the Daily Show, no matter what happens.
