Am I the only one who think an Atul Gawande-Sanjay Gupta team would be unbeatable? Health reform will sweep the nation's editorial boards and nightly news shows!

"Am I the only one who think an Atul Gawande-Sanjay Gupta team would be unbeatable?"
I believe it would violate the clauses in the Constitution that limit the number of South Asians and the number of vowels in the cabinet.
Affectionately meant ethnic slurs aside:
It’s really bizarre how much of what happens in government happens because of scandal and crisis.
Who knew we were going to get universal healthcare because Leo Hindrey gave Tom Daschle a car and driver? Zeus works in funny ways.
Dr. Gawande spoke at the Families USA conference last week and was absolutely incredible. not sure about the realities about him in the administration, but he certainly knows his stuff...
Of course, the best part of a Gawande-Gupta health complex would be the new spate of hilarious government-sponsored anti-marijuana commercials they'd unleash for us.
Gawande is an honest intellectual with an incredible analytical/observational skills; Gupta, on the other hand, is a showman, a good looking one, but a showman nonetheless
Gupta has serious problems with maintaining a basis in reality (by which I mean science). Defenders claim he had to talk about stuff like vaccines causing autism, and acupuncture being something other than an elaborate placebo. I'm not impressed by someone who's actually a doctor and is willing to pimp that kind of nonsense for low-intensity media stardom. Gupta would represent a rejection of science in public health--and a repudiation of one of Obama's inaugural promises.
sanjay gupta does not even compare to atul gawande. you are equating a harvard medical school professor, macarthur fellow and rhodes scholar with a guy who is only ambitious. there is a huge difference between misguided ambition and true contribution. Ezra, you are a fucking idiot.

A Gupta is a stooge with no proven interest in health reform. A pretty boy that happens to be a neurosurgeon, not a policy person.
And Atul, on the other hand is a smart choice, except Im not sure he has much clout political clout - especially in the Senate.
So, no. I dont see the excitement.

As long as we are going Indian how about Piyush Jindal? Supposed expert on healthcare and as a bonus O gets to run against Palin in 2012.
Do you really want to go with Gawande who didn't even become a neurosurgeon despite being born with a fair amount of graduate school medical training?

Simple answers to simple questions:
Yes, you the only one.
Unless there are others who think credulity about human cloning hoaxes is a qualification for the job, of course.
