Momma said wonk you out

ALMOST AS BAD AS THE DEMOCRAT YOU PLAN NOT TO VOTE FOR!

scarymccaincrop.jpg

Anatol Lieven thinks that, though "it may seem incredible to say this, given past experience, but a few years from now Europe and the world could be looking back at the Bush administration with nostalgia." The reason? John McCain. McCain is a guy who advocated a policy of "rogue state rollback," in which you "arm, train, equip, both from without and from within, forces that would eventually overthrow the governments" we don't like. These same forces would go on to "install free and democratically elected governments." These are the foreign policy pronouncements of a knave. Additionally, he'd like to kick Russia out of the Group of Eight, wants 100 years of war, and is notoriously quick to anger -- a nasty tendency for the diplomat-in-chief. Oh, and he's outsourcing his foreign policy thinking to Osama bin Laden.

Meanwhile, the DNC has looked into the arc of McCain's commentary on Iraq, and noticed some, err, inconsistencies. In particular, they've noticed McCain denying he'd ever said things that he'd said. When other politicians do this, it's called lying. And McCain does it very, very blatantly, couched in rhetoric meant to show how honest and willing to face up to hard truths, he is. Good thing he's got all this protective cred.

COMMENTS

What would be the downside if Obama stopped paying attention to HRC and started campaigning against McCain?

John McCain: Hillary's attacks would go unchallenged and the press would go into full-on feeding frenzy mode over them. If for no other reason than that Obama would be attacking their dearest lover, John McCain.

Spoon:

Here come the man from the stars
we don't know why he go so far
and keep on marching along
beatin' his drum

Thugs and sticks and bats and balls
for nuclear dicks with dialect drawls
they come from a parking lot town
where nothing lives in the sun

Don't make me a target (3x)

When you reach back in his mind
feels like he's breaking the law
There's something back there he got
that nobody knows

He never claimed to say what he says
He smells like the inside of closets under stairs
The kind where nobody goes

Don't make me a target...
