Ezra,
I doubt that Saturday will put to rest all the media punditocrats' comments that Clinton isn't 'actually' endorsing Obama. What could Clinton say and/or do that would put as many of these comments to rest?
What's troubling my mind are douchebag hypocrites like Soullite who went on and on for months about the evils of superdelegates deciding the primary now having no problem with superdelegates deciding the primary.
that there's even one die-hard Democrat who is now thinking of voting for McCain, because Obama and/or his campaign is/was "sexist."
they're gonna vote for a guy who called his wife the C-word and Chelsea Clinton "ugly" over Obama, the guy with a strong, independent wife and two young daughters?
these people need to be tagged, so their migrating patterns can be followed by scientists.
What bothers me is the images of past elections where election workers are holding up punch cards looking for "hanging chads" or "dimpled chads" because EVERY VOTE COUNTED!
Now, the DNC routinely disenfranchises voters by party bosses assembling in a smokey room and telling the voters that they will give them HALF!
my troubled mind: Iran war, Iraq Fuckup, Bush/Cheney lawbreaking, El Viajero, Joe Lieberman, Senate Republicans, Should-be-bankrupt banks, Hyperinflation Potential, Past-Peak Oil, Bee Colony Collapse, Industrial Meat Production, Ice-Free North Pole, Endless Clouds/Rain in Portland, Mega-Media control of information, Grey Hair, Human Irrationality, Darfur, Burma, Neo-Cons, Racists, Homophobes, Religious Nuts, Warmongers, Time/Warner tiered internet fees, Comcast in general,.....
What the fuck is going on with the price of oil today?
We're witnessing the results of suppression of market forces that would have us drilling on coastal shelves and elsewhere long ago.
Yeah, at every turn domestic drilling is demonized and stifled, and at the same time, we beg our Saudi overlords to up their production. There's so much fuckin' oil right here it makes your head swim.
These were "facts" the market was unaware of yesterday? I don't think so. Something is going on for oil to be up $10 a barrel as I type this.
Also, pretty sure the site you referenced is written by someone who doesn't know anything. Oil shales are not extracted via horizontal drilling, and there is no prohibition on extracting it. Try again.
ruby brittlestars, geodes, lilies of the valley, aurora borealis, chalcedony, glorioso lilies, neon morpheus butterflies, dragonflies, mule deer, fiddlehead ferns, gala apples, french toast with pure maple syrup, ee cummings, fiddler fakebook music, the grand canyon, first snowfalls, eclipses and tilting crescent moons
Does he think that he can just lie at will and the MSM will never call him on it? Will he slip up and lie about something that they care about, and will they ask him about it?
Not to take anything away from Big Bill Broonzy, and while his is probably the best known version of this song, "Trouble in Mind" was written by Richard M. Jones.
Speaking of which, anyone familiar with the Alan Rudolph film "Trouble in Mind" from 1985, with Kris Kristofferson, Genevieve Bujold, Keith Carradine, and Divine? With the title song performed by the wonderful Marianne Faithfull? Worth checking out.
What are the pros and cons of an Obama/Gravel ticket?
My idea is much better: Obama and Jimmy Carter. Look at that balance! Young black northern guy/old white southern guy. And since the Republicans have been running against Jimmy Carter for the last 30 years, why not put him on the ticket for real?
I was having dinner with my right-wing in-laws, they were lukewarm for McCain but were satisfied that he was more "conservative" than Obama and so would grudingly vote for him. I wonder if a tactic for Obama to win the so-called independents will be to run to the right of McCain on some issues? If so, what would be those issues?
I have an untroubled mind! In Australia we've had six months of our new Prime Minister, and he's been very busy while the right-wing opposition stumbles around in disarray. So I encourage you to take a look at what he's been doing (aside from throwing up dodgy pies) because some of it's very interesting and innovative.
If Barack Obama's policy was followed. Over 200,000 Iraqis would have died this year due to punishing genocidal sanctions and embargoes he would have kept on the country until the Hussein regime was over.
And 20 Million Iraqis would still be living in a tyranny countrolled by a global terrorist.

Trouble in mind, babe, I'm blue,
but I won't be blue always
Yes, the sun gonna shine,
in my back door someday
I'm goin' down, down to the river,
I'm gonna take my rockin' chair
Lord, if the blues overtake me,
I'm gonna rock on away from here
'Cause I'm trouble in mind, you know that I'm blue,
but I won't be blue always
Yes, the sun gonna shine,
in my back door someday
I'm gonna lay, lay my head,
on some sad, old railroad iron
I'm gonna let that 2:19,
pacify my mind
I'm trouble in mind, baby you know that I'm blue,
but I won't be blue always
Yes, the sun gonna shine,
in my back door someday

And the cynic wins me back over with those Broonzy lyrics.

New York eatery suffers racial discrimination. No, really. Damn those kids and their R & B music!
VA administrator continues to defend indefensible policies.

Ezra,
Any thoughts on this fabulous commencement address by the Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.) superintendent in which he blasts blogging without ever, you know, reading a blog.
You cannot fathom the ignorance and arrogance without watching the video.

I think the last time I commented on a BHO lie, it was about a previous BHO lie.
So, I was wondering what Ezra thinks of a more recent BHO lie.
Does he think that he can just lie at will and the MSM will never call him on it? Will he slip up and lie about something that they care about, and will they ask him about it?

Ezra-
Washington Post has front-page article today suggesting Wall Street speculation a factor for market oil price.

When are we expecting climate change to become part of the GE?

some people like to rock‚ some people like to roll
but me I like to sit around and satisfy my soul.
I like my women short‚ I like my women tall
and that's about the only thing I really dig at all.
I belong to the beat generation
I don't let anything trouble my mind.
Ibelong to the beat generation
and everything's going just fine.
some people say I'm lazy and my life's a wreck
but that stuff doesn't phaze me‚ I get unemployment checks.
I run around in sandals‚ I never ever shave
and that's the way I wanna be when someone digs my grave
I belong to the beat generation
I don't let anything trouble my mind.
Ibelong to the beat generation
and everything's going just fine.
I once knew a man who worked from 9 to 5‚
just to pay his monthly bills was why he stayed alive.
so keep your country cottage‚ your house and lawn so green.
I just want a one room pad where I can make my scene.
I belong to the beat generation
I don't let anything trouble my mind.
Ibelong to the beat generation
and everything's going just fine.
