MONSTER.COM HAS NOTHING ON BILL KRISTOL.
I can't really remember another situation in which a New York Times op-ed columnist devoted their whole column to arguing that a presidential nominee should hire their buddy. Just another way that Bill Kristol is revolutionizing the form, I guess!

Well, I'd pay cash money (well not much, I'm a poor post-doc ... at least until Sept.) to see Bill Kristol actually go into a gun club or sports bar.

That's kind of amusing because if Kristol read the New York Times, he would find Adam Nagourney describing the McCain campaign as suffering from too many cooks already, and speculating that bringing in Murphy would cause a shitstorm.
"It is not clear how Mr. Schmidt, among others, would react to that. Mr. Murphy and Mr. Schmidt had their differences when they worked together for the re-election of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California, though by all accounts, those are mild compared with Mr. Murphy’s differences with other people in the various factions at Mr. McCain’s headquarters."
And oh yeah: "One other potential hindrance to Mr. Murphy coming in: He is a founder of DC Navigators, a lobbying firm whose clients include insurance firms and the Indian Gaming Association, to name a few. Mr. McCain said he did not want any working lobbyists in his campaign." Even so, Murphy denies that he is a lobbyist. Uh huh.
So I guess I'm rooting for this to happen.

how big of a hack do you have to be so that even your attempts at blatant political hackery come off as being in the tank and hackstery?

Kristol's NYT editor must get an expression whenever Billy turns in copy that resembles Anthony Bourdain's if you tried serving him TGIF's Friday's Three-For All special.
This guy is the plastic covered couch of the editorial world.
