Momma said wonk you out

GONE VACATIONIN'.

This year, I'm taking my own advice about vacation time and leaving the country, sans computer, for a solid week. It's extremely exciting. But because I hardly draw a breath without thinking of you, my beloved readers, I've lined up a slew of great guestbloggers who'll be contributing while I'm gone.

• Ryan Avent, who writes for The Economist and whose urban policy work at The Bellows is what got me interested in the subject, ;

• Nick Beaudrot, of Cogitamus, who was one of my weekend bloggers for years and is one of the few pundits I know who actually understands numbers;

• Shannon Brownlee, author of Overtreated (which the Washington Post named "best economics book of 2007"), will be writing on health policy;

• Harold Pollack, faculty chair of the Center for Health Administration studies and an expert on population health, will be writing about public health with a hell of a lot more depth and expertise than I can possibly match;

• Alyssa Rosenberg, who writes for Government Executive magazine and knows way more about comics and Star Wars than you do;

This guy;

• Young Dylan Matthews, who's blown everyone away as a Prospect intern but is better known in the blogosphere as the Minipundit;

See ya in a week!

COMMENTS

Have a great trip! I just did 5 days in Michigan with no phone, no internet, and no TV, and it was about two months shorter than what I needed.

Now that Pollack's going to be at a site that doesn't (yet) censor comments, perhaps he'll be willing to discuss the conflict between his claims about BHO's healthcare plan (peekURL.com/zeaixyn) and BHO's claims about his own plan. There's a definite "conflict", the only question is what BHO is lying about.

I had some fun with this in this MattY post: peekURL.com/zx8cnu4 but it's a serious issue and maybe Pollack could even succeed where I failed in getting BHO's expert to explain the "conflict".

A week out of the country! How nice! How much does shilling for Democrats pay, anyways? Maybe the tax deductible status of prospect helps make this possible...

Jesus. Would it kill you two to wish him a good trip? Ezra can't go on vacation without his two biggest anti-fans grinding their axes?

Enjoy your time away from these clowns, Ezra.

It's great advice, Ezra. I managed an actual vacation this summer and came back relaxed despite 2K miles of driving. Enjoy your time off. (Although couldn't you have waited until Yglesias gets back? :-))

Have fun.

Here's a "big time blogger goes on vacation and leaves surrogates with the keys" idea -- also give the surrogates the liberty to "promote" a good comment that represents a complete thought and observes all internet traditions, etc. up to "post" status. Let some of the inmates sit in the big chair if they're able! (I'm not suggesting myself by any means!)

But... but... if you're on vacation, and Yglesias is on vacation... how will I know what to think about health care, and urban transit?
