Momma said wonk you out

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN COUNT ON.

Gotta give him this: McCain is ready. He's no Sarah Palin. He doesn't need no on-the-job training. He wasn't a mayor for a short period of time. He wasn't a governor for a short period of time. In fact, he'll tell you that himself.

Of course, in this clip, he's running against Rudy Giuliani (mayor of a city 844 times larger than Wasilla) and Mitt Romney (governor of a state 9.4 times larger than Alaska), so as you can imagine, the situation was a little bit different. Namely, at that point, it suited John McCain's political ambitions to say one thing, and right now, it suits his political ambitions to say the opposite thing.

if there were justice, or consistency, in electoral politics, than we'd have to admit something. John Kerry may have been a flip-flopper. But McCain is an opportunistic liar. And that's not a partisan judgment, there's simply no other way to interpret these facts.

COMMENTS

he was for experience before he was against experience...

Even I weary of pointing out POW!

No other way?

More populous. Not larger.

Fun fact: The Mat-Su Borough, where Wasilla is located, is larger than West Virginia.

By area. The borough also has fewer than a dozen incorporated towns, of which Wasilla is the most populous.

Big problem...McCain and the others were ACTUALLYT running for president. You know like the short term community organizer like Obama.

Palin is not running for President, although she has more qualification as an executive then Obama.

Nice try but your comparing apples to oranges.

Also, Rudy was mayor for 8 years, and Romney was governor for 4 years. And Huck was governor for 2 terms.

BPH is right. Obama is only a short term community organizer. Other than that, he's just been wasting his time teaching constitutional law, sitting in the Illinois Senate, the US Senate, defeating one of the most powerful political machines in recent memory, and oh yeah, writing two very well received books. Frikkin' lightweight!

@Grumpy:

Are you seriously arguing that being Mayor of NYC is anything comparable to being Mayor of Wasilla????? I honestly cannot believe that you guys are being intellectually honest. Tell me, do you really think Palin is qualified, or are you just trolling very hard. I just cannot understand the party doublethink anymore.

@BidenpicksHillary

Hes run a campaign for 18 months that has successfully unseated the incumbent Democratic party heads, if that isn't executive experience, what is?

BPH - that's your argument? That the expectations for someone running for president are one thing, and the expectations for someone running for vice president, someone whose job exists precisely to take over the role of president should that be necessary, are totally different?

Palin is not running for President.....

Oh "BidenpicksHillary"? You. Are. A. Moron. The End.

Via Sully:

I just wanted to say thank you so much for being the only blogger (aside from Al Giordano) who gets it. While the rest of the blogosphere (especially the liberal bloggers) lose their heads you are an island of common sense. Patience and Steel. Yes, yes. yes.

It also occurs to me that in a way McCain and Rove have actually simply taken over the liberal blogosphere in some way. They are being played.

Just a few examples---yesterday Obama gave a fantastic interview at the Service Forum. Did the liberal blogs even cover this? No.

He gave a great speech on the trail. Are his town halls even posted or excerpted? No.

The liberal bloggers have become McCain central. They make people click on his ads, make the world spin around him instead of focusing on our candidate and what he is trying to do. There is ZERO coverage of what Obama is actually doing every day talking tough on the issues. There is ZERO coverage of Biden (who is on the trail but the blogs don't seem to care or cover him unless he is doing what they think he should be doing. Sadly AFP did cover him this week and people seemed to be too busy saying he was not doing anything to include the link with his forceful comments against McCain. The one time the blogs linked to Biden---when the MSM tried to make a big deal out his answer to a question that made Hillary look bad and he defended her. That was it).

McCain and crew realized early this cycle that they did not have a visible internet presence. So what did they do? They took over the liberal presence, they are manipulating the leading liberal blogs , just as they manipulate the MSM. All to their own advantage. And the blogs have all fallen for this hook, line and sinker. Does no one realize this?

They are all being played.

And Obama, god bless him, he gets it. As does his team. while everyone whines he keeps at it every day with much much class and like a laser focused on the issues. The problem is not Obama, is that no one wants to follow his lead. Instead they are following McCain-Rove and they don't even know it.

Pass it on.

Great post Lit3Bolt.

Ezra, why have you not complained about Obama bringing up McCains POW time. I thought you frow on any reference to MCcain being a POW.

Didn't you like Obama making fun of McCains war injuries in his new 'McCain can't do e-mail' ad.

From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):
McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.

Great job making fun of a tortured POW who can't use a keyboard because our Nations enemy broke so many of his bones and tortured him while Biden was soaking up the gravy in the US Senate.

What's next is Obama going to complain that the Governor of New York doesn't know how to drive a car?

Imagine, a Governor of New York with all those roads and transportation isues can't drive a car.
-------------------------

Next he'll have Biden making fun of people in wheelchairs...oh wait, Biden already did that.

I notice the media never pointed out during Obamas lipstick on a pig routine, Obama was actually plagiarizing a Tom Toles cartoon:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/opinion/ssi/images/Toles/c_09052008_520.gif

Imagine if McCain copied a political cartoon in his speeches what the lamestream media would say...

Imagine if Obama said "Why is Bristol Palin so ugly? Because Sarah Palin is her mother!" in a speech what the lamestream media would say...

A very frightening thought hit me the other night when I was watching Bush give a speech. That guy has aged a LOT while in office. They all do. Way more than the 8 years. There is no way that McCain will last one term. He looks like shit already. Palin is the front of the ticket. And as far as his 'inability' to use a computer. Please. What a line of bullshit. quadraplegics can run computers. My arms are nowhere near shoulder level right now as I type this. And being a POW for 5 years and having disabilities is not a qualifying characteristic for being POTUS. The only job that qualifies you for is being a lecturer on how to survive 5 years aa a POW and dealing with disabilities.

Didn't you like Obama making fun of McCains war injuries in his new 'McCain can't do e-mail' ad.

zzzzzzz.

I love the smell of wingnut fear in the morning. It smells like.....victory. Victory and horse urine.

I'm glad Obama took a swing at McLame's sanctimonious "handicapable" war veteran pose. If the heroic ex POW can try coasting to victory on his record, then it's also fair game for opponents for criticize.

I feel so liberated, I think I’ll slap around the first paraplegic guy I see and then find a blind kid to trip so’s he knocks a few teeth out.

More blows struck against political correctness—and against loser cripples who try to make us feel bad when we walk past them without forking over a fiver.

"Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need – including going to my daughter’s blog first, before anything else."

This doesn't sound like someone who's physically incapable of using a computer

Wow-the trolls are out! Anon- theToles you linked to had nothing to do with your subject. If indeed you meant to link to the one pertaining to lipstick and pigs, it was printed AFTER the Obama comment, and REFERRED to it. God, the stupidity of the right frightens me for this country.

So essentially to someone like OLMP up there McCain could literally stand up there and say.

"Im John McCain and I have no experience with tools of modern Man. I have no policies that makes sense and a tax plan the indentures your children ad infinitem. BUT I was a POW and injuries I received there make me incapable of using modern technology, learning fiscal responsibility, or telling the truth consistantly."

..and that would be acceptable.

What a giant crock of steaming BS.

McCain was a POW, so as soon as the White House is replaced by a 4 year episode of survivor Vietname hes eminantly qualified. Other then that it has no bearing since that experience does not exemplify any form of executive leadership. (see kennedy's MIA experience where he rescued his boatmates, hid behind enemy lines, escaped and evaded the enemy, and LED his men the whole time.)

comments liek that are BS for BS sake, just to keep hisboring campaign the headlines and make bogus blog entries.

McCain isn't only a liar, he's a hypocrite. Half his campaign is based on lies, and half his campaign is based on hypocrisy. I think that's an important distinction.

….And in came little Bob, the father…and Tiny John upon his shoulder. Alas for Tiny John, he bore a little crutch, and had his limbs supported by an iron frame.

"And how did little John behave?" asked Mrs. McCain, when she had rallied Bob on his credulity, and Bob had hugged his daughter to his heart's content.

"As good as gold," said Bob, "and better. Somehow he gets thoughtful sitting by himself so much, and thinks the strangest things you ever heard. He told me, coming home, that he hoped the people saw him in the church, because he was a cripple, and it might be pleasant to them to remember upon Christmas Day, who made lame beggars walk, and blind men see."

Bob's voice was tremulous when he told them this, and trembled more when he said that Tiny John was growing strong and hearty.

His active little crutch was heard upon the floor, and back came Tiny John before another word was spoken, escorted by his brother and sister to his stool before the fire….

"A Merry Christmas to us all, my dears. God bless us."

Which all the family re-echoed.

"God bless us every one!" said Tiny John, the last of all.

He sat very close to his father's side upon his little stool. Bob held his withered little hand in his, as if he loved the child, and wished to keep him by his side, and dreaded that he might be taken from him.

"Spirit," said Obama, with an interest he had never felt before,"tell me if Tiny John will live."

"I see a vacant seat," replied the Ghost, "in the poor chimney-corner, and a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved. If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, the child will die."

"No, no," said Obama. "Oh, no, kind Spirit. Say he will be spared."

"If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, none other of my race," returned the Ghost, "will find him here. What then? If he be like to die, he had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
Obama hung his head to hear his own words quoted by the Spirit, and was overcome with penitence and grief.

"Man," said the Ghost, "if man you be in heart, not adamant, forbear that wicked cant until you have discovered What the surplus is, and Where it is. Will you decide what men shall live, what men shall die? It may be, that in the sight of Heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions like this poor man's child. Oh God! To hear the Insect on the leaf pronouncing on the too much life among his hungry brothers in the dust."

Obama bent before the Ghost's rebuke, and trembling cast his eyes upon the ground. But he raised them speedily, on hearing his own name.

"Mr. Obama!" said Bob; "I'll give you Mr. Obama, the Founder of the Feast!"

"The Founder of the Feast indeed!" cried Mrs. McCain, reddening. "I wish I had him here. I'd give him a piece of my mind to feast upon, and I hope he'd have a good appetite for it."

"My dear," said Bob, "the children. Christmas Day."

"It should be Christmas Day, I am sure," said she, "on which one drinks the health of such an odious, stingy, hard, unfeeling man as Mr. Obama. You know he is, Robert. Nobody knows it better than you do, poor fellow."

MA may be more populous than AK, but it will fit inside Denali National Park! So, stick that in your pipe and put lipstick on it!

Or something.

The game is too early for any player to really develop any guide that can contain that valuable of information that another can offer considering the game has yet to even be released. Why pay for information when many sites even provide that information for free. Majority of the information these paid for guides are scraped off other sites, blogs and forums and combined, compacted and reworded to become their own guide.

Some good pointers that will give you a bit more advantage over another player, pick up a profession and complete as many quests that is convenient and within your reach. Picking up a trade skill early on the game can give you a big advantage, especially a gathering profession. A gathering profession such as butchering, scavenging, magical salvaging or cultivating can grant you great bonuses during your early journey. By utilizing all your resources early in the game and continuing it will yield rewards later on the game. Rather than achieving the max level then going back to level up your profession you can gain all that benefit and sell your extra resources while warhammer power leveling your character up.
