Well, gee . . . let's see. Perhaps could it be that to go with his experience, McCain has plenty of "new ideas" as well, that you merely don't like, but clearly and empirically fit the bill as "new"?
Nah . . . couldn't be something as incredibly obvious as that. After all, you have some anti-American health care demagoguery to shovel to your masses.
I like Sarah's accent, yep. You betcha. It's so Fargo and all, ya know. I'd like to like her, too, with all that frontier spunk and grit and stuff, even if I didn't agree with her. But she's just so stupid that it trumps cute.
Once again, with her response, Palin demonstrates that she doesn't understand the question OR her running mate's policies. The problem with talking about unilateral attacks inside Pakistan isn't that it tips off the terrorists (as she implies) but because it causes friction with the Pakistani government, military, and people. John McCain understands this; Palin does not.
Prefacing the clip with an ad for Worst Week is just plain mean.
And the clip is followed by an ad for The Mentalist - which anyone familiar with British slang would know is also no glowing tribute.
P.S. Speaking of The Mentalist, don't the CBS execs know any Brits, or watch any British TV? What is their plan regarding syndicating the show in the UK?
I want to know when Sarah Palin first voted. Back in the 80's, it was confirmed that, while Rush Limbaugh talked about Reagan being "his president", he was found to never have voted before 1988. So, when did Sarah Palin start voting?
People are starting to feel sorry for her. I know I am. Unfortunately for McCain-Palin, that won't translate into votes, except maybe votes against McCain for putting her in this position.
A few weeks ago this would have seemed mean, but I recall her (possibly) joking about not knowing what the VP does. I'd really really like to see someone actually ask her what the role and responsibilities are of the VP, I'm honestly not sure she knows.
I'm convinced it is all a ploy to lower expectations in advance.
They told her to go out and play the bimbo, and she's definitely capable of playing dumb. All it takes is one gut condescending, patronizing remark from Biden and one unexpectedly solid response from Palin to make her not only attractive but viable to low-information voters and palatable to Republicans and Independents still on board.

Okay you sexist, self important fellas. Just because she's a woman and you don't agree with her doesn't mean you can make her out an airhead.
She is clearly indicating that the #1 person on her ticket has that kind of experience, where the #1 person on Biden's ticket doesn't.
And one other thing... what about that quite strange video of the kids singing about Obama like he is a god. That is really bad PR for Obama, after his greco pillars in the penis-envy supersized stadium.
And how about that Obamamania world tour with the fake Presidential seal?
But I do understand. Sarah Palin chose to have a baby with downs, and that goes against the primary Democratic Party principle of eugenics, while Obama votes against the Born alive infant protection act four times. Heil Obama!
I guess your right fellas, Sarah Palin is a little dingy, being a woman and all!
I can just hear the Obama kids singing in the background... "Obama's gonna lead us, Obama's gonna lead them..." Wow! Can that guy give a great speech!
Ya you wouldnt want someone who canmake speeches to be president. No on ever thinks about Roosevelt, or Kennedy, or lincoln as good speech makers, or decent president either. You wouldnt want someone young in the office, after all Kennedy was ancient when he was approaching the presidency.
It doesnt have to do with age, or experience, it has to do with wisdom. McCain has shows that for all his years, he has no wisdom. Obama has done the opposite.
The fake presidential seal? So what.?. all campaigns feign at being presidential. That was a rather catchy way of seeming presidential without actually taking on the official seal. There is no negative take away from that.
Oh yes,Palin's accent.... I am an alaskan, and Ive been all over the state. Where the hell did she get that accent? No one up there speaks like that unless they're from minnesota. WTH?
I guess you are right. Nothing like a great speaker. They tell us nice things and make us feel so good.
I was so impressed by that speech in the football stadium a while back, and that message of hope, unity and courage... Artful speaker. Very motivational.
Just one question: What's so "historic" about the Palin pick? She is not the first woman to have been pick to run as a VP nominee. If you all remember, Geraldine Ferraro was. So maybe it's because she's the first woman the Republican party has chosen. That being the case, all it signals is how behind the times that party is, and considering that they will lose this election like the Dems did in 84', further, all it will be in time is a mere footnote in history.

I was wondering about that - since I don't remember her sounding like that a few weeks ago. Is she running for VP, or auditioning for Prairie Home Companion?
At this point you kind of have to wonder whether or not she's playing some really deep game that involves her destroying McCain's candidacy, returning to Alaska, leading the state to succeed as the economy of the lower 48 collapses and finally ruling the new petro-state of Saralaska as its amazon queen.
I mean, that makes at least as much sense as what she's saying. Right?
Considering the Rep. Nat'l Committee is lighting up the airwaves here in Michigan with ads saying essentially the same thing (Obama and the Dem. Congress are more of the same and McCain = Change -- they even superimpose the word "Change" over McC's face), maybe she's just part of the national roll-out of the latest message.

There she goes, Sarah being Sarah. Shucks.

Wow. Wonder how long before they put her back in her cage, far away from those "gotcha" journalists.

Are you sure she doesn't believe that the VP is elected independently from the President?

She is a one-woman wrecking crew. I think she might actually believe that she IS Barack Obama.
Posted by: Jake | September 30, 2008 7:15 PM
I think the way it works is that because McCain is the mavericky McMaverick guy he also represents fresh new ideas, blah, blah, blah.
And Obama? Just those outworn radical socialist ideas from the 1960's -- the ones he learned from his buddies Ayers, et.al.
I don't buy it at all. But I think this is the mindset of the pro-change pro-McCain vote. And to them she's just talking good sense.

could mccain not have found anybody else as pretty, but smarter and more qualified?
bobby jindal or mitt romney would have been far better choices. with romney, mccain might even have won.

There are about 150 million American women better qualified to become VP than Sarah Palin.

All you libtards are pretty damn stupid. You think you're so smart, with your "logic" and "reality" and book-learnin.
But, well, screw you all. Sarah Palin reads all the newspapers and magazines that are published in the world. Can you say that?
