Momma said wonk you out

BAD TED.

Senator Ted Stevens found guilty on all counts. The GOP can kiss that seat goodbye.

COMMENTS

The GOP, the political party equivalent of Carl Lewis' national anthem attempt (esp. at 00:19).

Wow. When I read about the drama with the jury, I thought for sure we were headed for a mis-trial. I guess evidence that damning has a way of rising above any distractions.

But what if he doesn't lose? On Nov 5th could we be looking at a Senator Palin? Does the Alaskan constitution allow that?

YES.

61 seats here we come.

We should all take a moment to play some music in celebration.

Don't count on Ted losing the election. Alaska is so red it's practically Texas. There are plenty of voters there who would rather cast a vote for a Republican Satan than a Democratic Jesus.
And yes, then the Senate will vote to throw Ted out, and Palin will appoint herself as Senator and show up for the first session in her mom jeans. And she will be the dumbest Senator since Huckleberry Graham.

Palin in the Senate could really help her '12 primary chances.

Alaska will hold a special election to select a replacement. I believe hey changed the laws after Gov Murkowski appointed daughter Lisa to an empty senate seat.
