JURY DUTYING.
Got to go down to the courthouse this morning and see if I'm really going to be called for 25 straight days of grand jury service (seems....excessive). Hopefully, posting to resume later in the day, rather than sometime in late January.
Update: Blogging resumes!

Grand juries are intense; federal grand juries can be empaneled for up to 18 months I believe.

Getting enpaneled on some patent/intellectual property dispute that lasts this long is one of my most deeply-held fears.

2005 Maine Health Care Town Halls: Citizens insisted on including single payer in their survey, then voted for it. Take that, Tom Daschle!

If you just tell them the truth you will not be impanelled. Tell them that you don't believe people should be convicted of a crime without examination of the root causes, and that the finding of a root cause is exculpatory.
