RECORD TURNOUT FOR DEMS.

These are only preliminary figures, but the Florida Democratic turnout today surpassed the combined turnout of the Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina, at well over a million with not all precincts yet reported. It also surpassed the turnout for any primary on record ever in the state, according to the Florida Democratic Party.

And liberals everywhere stood up this week and demanded that their votes shouldn't count.

Nice try, Kate.

Since Florida's *population* is considerably larger than that of those four states combined, is this surprising?

That's impressive. Congratulations to the Clinton campaign from an Obama supporter. Let's keep it collegial, guys.

I think that's her point, David.

I noticed that no one seems to want to indicate the actual vote count/percentage here. MSNBC only said that Clinton got more votes than the other Dems; The Hill gave no indication at all. Given the media's predilection against Clinton and general pleasure with Obama, I can't help but wonder how it would have been played if this about 51%-32% or so Clinton-Obama result had been the reverse....not trying to be un-collegial, just wondering....

plum,

Thanks for the generosity. I wish we could all keep it that way.

"It also surpassed the turnout for any primary on record ever in the state, according to the Florida Democratic Party. "

Yeah. And because South Carolina was a blowout, and Hillary's streetfighting was too negative, and Mark Penn isn't a good strategist, obviously Obama won, right?

No?

Gosh.

It's a record turnout for the same reason that baseball games in July draw more fans than baseball games in January -- it's actually baseball season.

My mother is 77 years old Florida voter and votes in everything, city commission primaries, county charter referendums -- and even she used to blow off the Florida primary that was held in March after there was already a presumptive nominee.

It should be noted that there was a hotly-contested property tax measure on the ballot in Florida yesterday. Many Democratic voters probably went to the polls for that reason.

Thank you for the article sesli sohbet
