OBAMA CAMPAIGN: CLINTON DID GIRLY STUFF AS FIRST LADY.

That's the take-away from this morning's press release wars. Here's an excerpt from an AP report that Bill Burton highlights:

"Clinton says her years as first lady equip her to handle foreign policy and national security as president. But the schedules show trips packed with plainly traditional activities for a first lady, along with some substance. For example, in her January 1994 visit to Russia with her husband, her schedule is focused on events with other wives. She sat in on a birthing class at a hospital, toured a cathedral and joined prominent women in a lunch of blinis with caviar and salmon."

Birthing! Blinis! Ladies who lunch! (Read: Someone keep this flighty chick away from the red phone!) Seriously though, a bigger story supposedly "uncovered" in the First Lady papers is that Hillary never held or attended any meetings on the Family Medical Leave Act, which was the first piece of legislation President Bill Clinton signed, 10 days after entering office. Having just written a piece about the FMLA for the upcoming print issue of the Prospect, I can tell you that anyone familiar with the law should have already realized Hillary's very limited involvement. The non-profit organization the National Partnership for Women and Families originally drafted the bill, which was then championed in the House by former Colorado Congresswoman Pat Schroeder and in the Senate by Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy. These three were at work trying to pass the FMLA from the late-1980s on, while the Clintons were in Arkansas and running a national campaign. So while Hillary did indeed have a history of involvement with work-family issues, she couldn't have possibly been a big player in the original Beltway push to pass the FMLA.

COMMENTS

Sorry, Dana. I don't think Burton and the Obama campaign is at all out-of bounds on the foreign trips stuff.

She's claiming some sort of national security experience and expertise...and using her foreign trips as evidence of such.

So it's fair to say: show me the bilateral meetings; show me diplomacy.

Maybe you could point out how the Clinton campaign is now on board with the "Obama has a crazy preacher - he must be Eldridge Cleaver in a nice suit" argument.

You know, for the sake of balance.

Oh, and Obama's comments have the added value of being true, even if a little sexist, while the Hillary's camp's are racist and false.

The comments aren't sexist. They would have been if they were what Dana says they were.

All they said is that she did typical First Lady stuff. Based upon that her experience is as relevant as Laura Bush's experience. I doubt that Clinton would say that experience qualifies Laura to be President.

"the Clinton campaign is now on board with the "Obama has a crazy preacher - he must be Eldridge Cleaver in a nice suit" argument."

Good luck there, jh.

I think an answer to your request will be about as forthcoming as the answer to my request that Ezra provide some proof that the whole Wright thing happened as a result of a Clinton oppo dump. [BTW, it's been what ... a week now, Ezra.]

A goodly portion of the progressive blogoshere has become Limbaugh-esque. Facts, citations ... none of those matter when you are talking about your "opponent". After all, its the truthiness that matters not the actual truth.

The Obama camp's comments are sexist only to the extent that the First Lady's role itself is sexist. "Girly stuff"? Hanging out with the other wives? That's what the "traditional First Lady role" is. The First Lady is ludicrously reactionary and patriarchal concept, having the wife of the president play ceremonial mother to the country, and if looks like Clinton was wasting her time doing lots of ceremonially useless "girly stuff," that's because that's what First Ladies do. The notion that she was some top-level White House adviser is ridiculous.

Gotta love it: when she was first lady, Clinton took heat for being too involved in her husband's presidency; now she's getting it for being too uninvolved.

When you guys figure out the "just right" amount, let us know.

It's now how much she was involved or uninvolved, it's how much she is currently claiming to have been involved. The Obama campaign and the national media are basically fact-checking Clinton, an appropriate thing to do, given her claims.

Clinton brought this on herself, I'm afraid, and she has no one to blame but herself.

Strasmangelo: she was a key adviser on some matters. To say across the board that she wasn't is to absolve her of any responsibility for the health care debacle.

C'mon fh, it's HRC who's trying to have it both ways. She wants to depict herself as involved when it suits her and uninvolved when that's the more advantageous posture.

Somehow, being married to the President makes her the right one to be by the phone at 3am...but she had nothing to do with that nasty NAFTA.

No "heat" for being "uninvolved"...heat for exaggerating her role. Heat for disingenuously claiming involvement -- and hence deeply relevant "experience" -- on foreign affairs/national security.

(1) PREFACE: I do not like Hillary.
(2) That said, ANY experience she has is more and better than Obama's absence of ANY and his absence of a basic grasp of factual information (Al Qaeda's in Iraq, "pretty words, empty head")
(3) Nice job of completely missing the point Obama was trying to make the other day: use of divisive race and gender stereotypes may make a smarmy idiot feel empowered, but it is detrimental to us all. "Girly"? Would you dare refer to an Obama trip to the inner city as "blacky"?

strasmangelo jones is right. The quote isn't sexist. It simply confronts Hillary's claim of experience based on her years in the White House.

Of course, Hillary Clinton knows better than any of us what her role was in the 1990s. She could use the release of these records to point explicitly to instances where she was engaged in the process. The more examples she can point to, the stronger her case becomes - but she has to take an active role herself. Otherwise we'll just read about first lady lunches and Monica Lewinsky.

Al Qaeda's in Iraq, "pretty words, empty head"

Presumably, you're referring to McCain, not Obama.

Earth the commenters -- the title of this post is *sarcastic*

Yes, yes, let's have the gender victimologists and the race victimologists continue to shoot each other in the kneecaps. Each side is getting shorter and lamer (double entendre there).

Press should annouce LOUDLY all the false Billary is saying about her experience .

World should understand : we are not voiting for First Lady, but for President, which is not the same, right?
Than show the World - she is not qualified.

What amazes me about Sen. Clinton is her ability to validate her own lies. In her released papers; During the Whitewater scandal.

It CLEARLY states that one of her own aides found billing records that proved to be fraudulent in her private living quarters in the White House.

This are the same billing records that Sen. Clinton stated in FRONT of a Federal Grand Jury that she didn't KNOW where those records were!!! Are you kidding me!!! This is the same stalling tactics that she is using with her TAXES. I wonder why? YOU also know where she learned how to lie and deceit, from hubby Billy of course!!

China

· Sept. 5, 1995: HRC traveled to Beijing and spoke out for women’s rights and human rights despite efforts by the Chinese government to discourage her visit and pull the plug on her speech.

Macedonia

· May 14, 1999: Hillary traveled to the Balkans while the NATO-led air war against the former Yugoslavia was still under way as part of a broader U.S. effort that led to the reopening of the border with the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, permitting thousands of Kosovar refugees to flee to safety. She met separately with Prime Minister Georgievski and President Gligorov, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia Christopher Hill, to emphasize America’s support for the stability and security of Macedonia.

Northern Ireland

· Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, 1995; Oct. 31, 1997; Sept. 2 – 3, 1998; May 12 – 13, 1999; Dec. 12 – 13, 2000. Hillary traveled to Northern Ireland five times as First Lady and gave what Northern Irish leader and Nobel Laureate John Hume recently described as “decisive support” to the peace process in Northern Ireland. She focused especially on encouraging the emergence of women in the political process. In addition, Hillary's work at the grass roots and behind-the-scenes helped cultivate the conditions necessary for the peace to take hold and last.

Africa

· March 17, 1997: HRC traveled to Senegal and met with Senegalese President Abdou Diouf. As she recounts in Living History, Hillary lobbied President Diouf to support legislation banning female genital mutilation and lent assistance to a grassroots campaign against the practice. Soon after that meeting, a law banning the practice was passed. [Living History, p. 400-01].

· March 27, 1997: Hillary also traveled to Tanzania and met with President Benjamin Mkapa. As she recounts in Living History, Hillary encouraged the president to eliminate laws that limited women from owning and inheriting property, restrictions that not only were unfair but hobbled the economic potential of half the country’s population. In 1999, Tanzania passed the Land Law Act and the Village Act, repealing and replacing the laws that had previously discriminated against women. [Living History, p. 403]

· March 23 – April 2, 1998: After her 1997 trip to Africa, Hillary lobbied President Clinton to go to Africa. They traveled to Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, South Africa, Botswana, and Senegal.

What's Obama got for the same years? thanks.

It amazes me how Americans fall for this nonsense. It is the Obama campaign that pushed for Clinton's white house papers and her tax returns. No matter what was found the Obama campaign would spin it against her. CNN and MSNBC would produce headlines that trivialize Clinton's past achievments as Obama is their candidate of choice. Nothing new here from the candidate of "change". In all fairness she does have more experience than Obama and given the current issues here and around the world. I am not ready to elect someone with Obama's experience. Obama supporters have such distaste for Hillary that they do not look at their own candidate objectively. Wright? Ooops, I meant Right?

If I "helped cultivated the conditions necessary" for a new piece of software, and "lent assistance" to the process, then I'm padding my resume. If I wrote the software myself, I'll say so.

The point is, neither Clinton nor Obama has all that much experience -- but Obama has better judgement. (For the record, both have better judgement than Bush or McCain, but no intelligent person doubts that.)

"Seriously though, a bigger story supposedly "uncovered" in the First Lady papers is that Hillary never held or attended any meetings on the Family Medical Leave Act, which was the first piece of legislation President Bill Clinton signed, 10 days after entering office." ...

Did Senator Clinton say that she held or attended meetings on the FMLA?

"Having just written a piece about the FMLA for the upcoming print issue of the Prospect, I can tell you that anyone familiar with the law should have already realized Hillary's very limited involvement.

How can someone who never held or attended a meeting on the FLMA still have limited involvement?

She either was involved or she was not.

Which is it?

Or perhaps you could give us a link to a quote where Senator Clinton says she was "a big player in the original Beltway push to pass the FMLA".

Ignorance is Bliss and Obama supporters are truly bliss-fully misled. The convenience of attempting to minimize HRC's first Lady agenda amidst "Bigger frying Fish" that Obama has created in being a mentoree of a blatant racist and anti-american. Shame on Obama and shame on all Obama apologists. Remember, you are the company you keep.

The fact that Clinton is pushing the Wright issue on the superdelegates is in the New York Times today, dipshit.

I'm noticing a trend amongst the Hillary dead-enders: either pointing out already-debunked claims of Clinton's experience (anonymous) or questioning facts which have already been well-sourced (The Okie).

Try to read something other than your own flatulence, losers. you might learn something.

have another brew, man

bad day?

Seems to me brewmn, yo're the only dipshit that's posted here presently. HRC is not pushing Wright. Wright and his racist behavior, which you seem to condone, pushed it's ugly head onto the national scene. Obama made his bed by attending a racist institution and "receiving guidance" from a hate-monger. Michelle Obama,"First time I've been proud to be an American in my adult life." Statements such as these and your denials brewmn is what makes you the dead-ender.

Good One Right is Might! These Obama supporters think this is a football game or something. We are talking about giving someone the most important job in the world at a time when we are faced with real serious issues. Obama is not the one!
Hillary 08!

The Facts…

1) “Bill Clinton was inaugurated on January 20, 1993 and the Family and Medical Leave Act was signed just sixteen days later, on February 5, 1993”.

2) " Congress had already passed the FMLA twice during George H.W. Bush’s presidency. It was vetoed both times.”

3) “When Bill Clinton ran for office in 1992, he promised he would sign this legislation” as stated in this campaign brochure. There's a reason the brochure used the language "sign it" instead of "will work to pass it". The reason is Congress had already passed it twice. The legislation had enjoyed strong support in both houses of congress for years. The only thing holding it back had been George Bush Sr.'s veto pen.

4) When it passed for the third and final time (16 days into Bill Clinton's Presidency), it did so by overwhelming margins. In the Senate the vote was 71 to 27 (source), in the House it was 265 to 163 (source).

To state that Hillary Clinton helped pass the FMLA during her first 16 days as First Lady is just plain preposterous.

As already stated, the bill had strong support in both houses of Congress, and had already passed twice before. All it needed was a president who wouldn't veto it. As soon as that happed congress acted quickly and passed it for a third time just 16 days into the Clinton Presidency by overwhelming margins. All Bill Clinton had to do was take out a pen, fulfill his campaign promise, and sign on the dotted line - which he did. Unless Hillary helped him hold the pen it's hard to fathom how her campaign can possibly claim she helped pass the thing.

funny, you implicitly agree that Hillary Clinton is overstating her qualifications via experience supposedly conveyed on national security and diplomacy from her time as First Lady, but use it as an excuse to attack the Obama campaign by putting words in their mouths. why? why can't you just state the case?

Clinton's F.L. schedule reinforces the largely un-covered story that vast chunks of her alleged "35 years" of experience in government are actually no such thing under closer examination. since the media won't pick this up and run with it unless she becomes the nominee, the Obama camp has to introduce it into the dialog. notice how Clinton can say or do nearly anything against Obama and its 'tough politics, why can't you handle it?' but the Obama camp has kept things entirely above-board and would never be found using Lewisnky or any number of other salacious scandals to torpedo her candidacy the way she has tried to his. I wonder why that is? it is not at all wrong to question what she means when she claims the sort of omniscience in governance that Clinton claims! why can she claim significant roles in various issues that she never actually had and get away with it?

the truth is, most of her 'experience' is as a corporate lawyer defending rich and powerful people against claims made by average citizens, plus 8 years as First Lady and 1.5 Senate terms. during her Senate tenure, she has not gotten much legislation passed, even compared to a relative newcomer like Obama. can anyone name the Clinton / _______ Act of 200_? anyone?

I am disgusted, not with Obama, but with his supporters. If she did some traditional First Lady activities, she did "girly stuff," and therefore had no brain. If, as the record shows, she started the work on health care three days after the Inauguration, then she was just a busybody, a usurping woman, ambitious, the Iron Lady, etc. Hey, here's a suggestion: don't copy the approach to Hillary that Karl Rove suggested for Obama back in October. To me, the Obama campaign is an amalgam of that wonderful speech on race and the screeching and double-talk of too many of his supporters.

How sexist can you get? Hillary did "girly" things. Wake up America, its time sexism became as taboo as racism. No one would write Obama did "black" things. As a woman I am outraged at this type of overt sexism!

"GIRLY STUFF"?????? WHAT WAS OBAMA DOING DURING THESE YEARS???

HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT!

MaryLou,

China · Sept. 5, 1995:
Gave a speech. "“Speeches don’t put food on the table. Speeches don’t fill up your tank or fill your prescription or do anything about that stack of bills that keeps you up at night.”
== HRC, 2008

Macedonia · May 14, 1999:
USO tour. Take your pick for Pres: Chelsea, Sinbad, Cheryl Crow all went with her.

Northern Ireland · Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, 1995; Oct. 31, 1997; Sept. 2 – 3, 1998; May 12 – 13, 1999; Dec. 12 – 13, 2000:
"She visited when things were happening, saw what was going on, she can certainly say it was part of her experience. I don't want to rain on the thing for her but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player." == Nobel Laureate Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, former First Minister of Northern Ireland.

Africa · March 17, 1997:
"Her trips without him, judged by the schedules, were for the most part classic first-lady fare. During a lengthy tour of Africa with her daughter in 1997, for example, Clinton stopped in Senegal, where she visited the Goree Island slave house, a girls' school, a "typical village" and a Peace Corps facility. After a round-table discussion with Senegalese women, she paid a 30-minute "courtesy call" on the president before heading to the airport." == Washington Post

Laura Bush:
"First Lady Laura Bush
today visited the Maamobi Polyclinic in the Greater Accra region of Ghana
to see firsthand two interventions being implemented by AED to control
malaria."

AND

"First Lady Laura Bush ... departs [Oct. 20, 2007] for a week-long tour of the Middle East, where she will visit the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan -- all countries that have joined in a partnership with the United States to fight breast cancer.

"While there, she also plans to visit U.S. troops in Kuwait.

"Some of the highlights of the trip will include:

"A meeting with Saudi King Abdullah in Jeddah, and a visit to Riyadh, where she will officially launch the U.S.-Saudi Arabia partnership for breast cancer awareness and tour the country's first community cancer screening center.

"A meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II and a visit to the King Hussein Cancer Center, where she will unveil a model of Jordan's first community breast cancer screening center."

LAURA BUSH FOR PRESIDENT!

Get it Right:

Laura Bush has more experience than Obama; thanks for mentioning that

If CNN is going to convict Barack Obama on something his Pastor said, they should also inform viewers of the CLINTON'S PASTOR WHO WAS CONVICTED OF CHILD MOLESTATION.

So, if Obama bears the guilt for his pastor's comments, then Hillary has to be equally tainted by this guy's crimes.

I always love the Anonymous who jump in with an uninformed snark. Hmm, Clinton backer, not good with facts, so are a few on the experience front.

"Statements such as these and your denials brewmn is what makes you the dead-ender.'

And I'll be the dead-ender who watches Barack Obama take the oath of office as President of the United States.

Judy Licht was the head of the National Pertnership then and she was a long time friend of Hillary Clinton's. I wouldn't be surprised if given Hillary's work on children's issues if Judy hadn't had discussions with her about the bill.

ATLEAST SHE WORKED OBAMA WHEN POLITICANS LIKE YOU DID NOTHING ON THE JOB YOU WEE ELECTED TO, YOUR ARE AN OBAMANATION!!!All the obama supporters are defending him staying at the church, ALL the black ministers are defending Wrights preaching, that simply tells ALL Americans they also support his feelings of anti- America and white hatred that the church preaches. No one says Obama cant attend the church for 20 years, or raise his daughters to be racist like his wife, what we ARE SAYING is that HE CANNOT REPRESENT ALL OF AMERCIA AS U.S. PRESIDENT! Rev Wright was and most likely still is a paid advisor on Obamas campaign??? Obama and David Axelrod insisted that Obama be the black candidate early in SC when they tried to spin it on Bill Clinton, it worked for the biased tabloid media like CNN cronies, since then, we ALL have come to realize Obama has problems with the truth and we learned this week for sure where his faith and true beliefs are, its obvious THERES ABSOLUTLY NO CHANGE WITH OBAMA, HE WILL DRAG U.S. BACK TO THE 60'S RACIAL DIVIDE at a time our country needs to unite. He cannot do that, no matter how many black news casts tell you he can

OBAMA STANDS BEHIND SPIRITAL ADVISOR WRIGHT!
“Wright is like an uncle you love and respect” As imperfect as he may be, he has been family to me for so many years, I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community, said Obama. The man who believes and preaches the U.S. government formulated the HIV AIDS virus to commit genocide against blacks also preaches “We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye on 9/11. This is the same man Obama had as advisor on his Presidential staff until this week. Rather than break ties with his demagogic, anti-American pastor, Obama used a speech on the non-back race to excuse his behavior and sweep the controversy under the rug. Passing the buck. Obama supposedly condemning Wright's shocking verbal assaults against the U.S and White Americans, but April last year; Obama was the first and quickest to demand Imus' ouster for making a racially insensitive remarks. His opinions and issues change with the weather, he is too UNSTABLE and proven he cannot make a decision or stay with one. Next we have ALL corrupt campaign financers, business and personal friends as indicted Rezko, former Dallas Mayor Hill, Rep. Rick Renzi and Mr. Auchi, leading supplier of arms to Saddam's regime convicted for corruption in France, the same British-Iraqi billionaire lent millions and millions of dollars to Obama all coming out of the woodwork. ALL this from the half black ex-Muslim who touts change and claims to be a uniter of all people? Proof he is just another in-experienced Washington politician that the media has like CNN has given a free pass at the great risk of our great country! There will soon be allot more video of Rev Wright and Obama coming, all this has proven without doubt if he is the nominee the democrat voters he cannot win the general election, just the black vote will not do it. Its time for Obama to leave this race and take his not so proud of America racist wife, spiritual advisor and anti white church with him..

This just shows the democratic party again shoots itself in the feet and has, in my opinion, handed the country back to Bush et el to further its agenda for the very rich and the servant class. Last time they had a retired 4star general who was a Rhodes scholar and understood (if you ever read any of Clark's writings) what is happening. Instead they gave the nomination to an elite white man who looked and acted like a piece of driftwood. Now they are trying to be so Politically Correct they are handing the nomination to a man simply because he's a nice speaker and his father is a black moslim..nice The news people give Obama a cake walk and dig Hillary every chance they get and the sheep follow, yup Rove proved they will follow right off a cliff to their deaths. Obama will never win, I for one will vote for Nader, at least he has a proved record of caring for the consumer. I spent 17 years with a well educated minority (not black) who also happened to be an arrogant abuser. I see that arrogance in Obama and the hairs on my neck stand up. He will NEVER win the general election, so I and several people I know are planning on moving to Canada, where there still is a democracy. Hillary is qualified, has worked for YOUR rights, and Obama belittles her experience by calling it "girlie", racist fool!

This sexist remark is in line with Obama calling his grandmother a "typical white person." Obama built his whole campaign on accusing Clinton of not going against the war, but doesn't hold himself to the same standard when he refuses to go against his racist spiritual adviser, Wright. He votes present instead of taking responsibility. He never had to vote on Iraq - it's easy to make a speech. It's action that counts. Hillary, as first lady, as NY senator took action. She’s the only candidate with the experience the clean up after Bush’s mess. Stop drinking the Kool Aid and sober up! Clinton is the right candidate.

Good Job Screwing Up Again Democrats

As an Independent, this current set of Primaries will mark the first time I ever considered, and planned on voting for a Democrat. I plan on supporting Barrack Obama.

As such, these Primaries mark my first opportunity to really scour the "Liberal" web, and television Media outlets for news on my candidate and the issues they face.

I have to say, I am not at all impressed by the lack of unity of this party. I am also disappointed by the quantity of people who are willing to throw common sense and intelligence out the door for a multitude of reasons.

As stodgy and boring as the Republicans are, at least they don't cannibalize each other...as much.

It looks like the Democrats are so used to throwing around accusations of Racism, sexism, and general discrimination, that you even do it to each other if it will serve your purposes.

And to what end? The Democrats will lose the White House in a year that should have been a "shoe in"...and to a Republican candidate who is already beating the war drum for Iran.

Man, I am really pulling for this party this year...but you guys make it so hard. It's like your trying to lose the election.

Here is the opinion of an outsider looking in.

1) Hillary is divisive. Simple as that. Even members of her own party feel that way. Just look at the way she has handled her campaign, and you can see the writing on the walls during her next 4 years in the White House. She won't be able to bring together the house and she will generate controversy at every turn. She may have some outstanding ideas on what to do for the government. But DC, Capital Hill, the White House, is about coalition building. And that is NOT Hillary's strengths.

2) Barrack has ZERO experience. But he inspires and he is your most intriguing candidate in years. You know what is so interesting about Obama? Why he appeals to so many people? Because he is what so many people wondered about for so many years.

What if a candidate ran, and spoke like an intellectual, and not a politician? What if he ran on the platform of "Change". That change being a President who is intelligent, inspiring, and willing to put doing the smart thing ahead of doing the political thing. I was recently on Capital Hill, and even Republicans found him inspirational and intriguing. He will be able to unite and build coalitions.

In the end, it won't matter though. Not in the Democratic Party anyway. All the Republicans have to do is sit back and watch the Democrats do what, what they do best...but usually to everyone else. Hurl unsubstantiated accusations at each other, vilify each other, and work from a position of emotion.

Good job Democrats. Can't wait for 2010, 2011 when oil is up to $200 a barrel or more, and we are gearing up our troops for a romp through Iraq.

Correction:

I meant a romp through Iran...

I miss John Edwards. We could be productively analyzing Bear Stearns' corporate welfare and McCain's Iraq gaffe right now.

Ya got played.

I think I'm going to have to resort to yanking your birth control.

"As an Independent, this current set of Primaries will mark the first time I ever considered, and planned on voting for a Democrat."

so we can blame YOU for the past 8 years...and you want us to listen to you now because?

Yes, you "Could" blame someone other then the Democratic Party for your woes in terms of winning the White House...OR you could simply do a better job at selecting candidates that have a broad range of appeal, and then selling yourself to your own party.

Next, try altering the message of the Democratic Party ever so slightly. Because the Democratic Party isn't selling anything different from the Republican Party. The Democrats just market themselves ineffectively.

Both parties want to sell you a better America.

Republicans say to us "Hey, we are a great country. Something to be proud of. But we can do better, so vote for me and lets do it together"

Democrats say to us "You should be ashamed of how we are, and the things we do as a country. We need to do better, so vote for me and lets do it together".

See, same product, different tag line.

I am not sure if you can understand this.

Anyone who responds to the message I posted with "So we can blame YOU for the past 8 years...and you want us to listen to you now because?"

doesn't strike me as the typical intellectual the Democratic party supposedly consists of.

But at this point of the game, I think your post says it all in regards to why the Democrats have lost the last two presidential elections, and why your looking like you will lose this one.

While Democrats attack each other and those that they should be wooing over, the Republicans are solidifying their message, and packaging it with a candidate that is building appeal.

Yes, you COULD blame some one else for your party's woes...or you can see all this internal name calling, accusations of racism, sexism, and discrimination...as the chickens finally coming home to roost.

If you can't even beat a Geriatric war bird whose fiscal policy is going to be little better then President Bush's current policy...then you can only blame yourselves for not winning the White House.

The allegation that Clinton's pastor was convicted of child molestation is a lie. The original newspaper article datelined Utica, NY said: "UTICA — When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But as the former Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March, Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he testified."

Procanick was the pastor of a church in Clinton, Oneida County, NY. He was not the pastor of Hillary and Bill Clinton.
