THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT AMERICANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.
And so it begins. John McCain launches his first national television ad for the general election today, which in a single minute manages to refer to the U.S. as a "she" that must be protected in that creepy-uncle kind of way, suggest that one must serve in the armed forces to be a true patriot, and insinuate that other presidential candidates are less "American." Soaring to new heights of class, that John McCain:
As Ezra points out, there was a time when McCain didn't think candidates should talk about their experience in Vietnam.

The black monochromatic color palette is new. Very interesting, actually.
By the way, McCain also has a 2-minute ad on YouTube (there's a link to it among the related videos) called "Man in the Arena." I have to say, it's a damn good one. First time in a long time that I wondered whether the Democratic candidate would win.

Just because BHO did things like march for illegal activity at an event organized by an official with a foreign political party and by those linked to a foreign government does NOT make him unpatriotic (youtube.com/watch?v=EiullH5jU1A).
It's just going to look that way to about 80% of Americans. And, just because McCain and the MSM won't discuss that doesn't mean that others (i.e., me) won't get a chance to "cross examine" Obama on that issue one of these days. He's not used to people holding him accountable, so it should be quite surprising for him.
Of course, one response to the McCain ad would be to point out that he has his own patriotism issues.
The Dems would do that, if one they had a brain. Based on their past, I'm pretty sure they don't: youtube.com/watch?v=9GQM-4q099A
If you can't win an election against a president who proposes one of the most un-American and anti-American ideas I've ever heard, then you should just disband your party and seek employment elsewhere.

McCain always claims that he doesn't like to talk about his service. And then proceeds to bring it up as often as possible.
I think Somerby may have documented this. Of course the MSM always says that he really gates to talk about it. Idiots.

Please, Grandpa Simpson, please drone on and on in gory detail about Vietnam. I want to hear it until blood gushes from my ears. Because, ya know, American politics is all about re-fighting the pointless cultural battles of the Sixties (Greatest Decade Ever!). It's like bickering over the Spanish-American War on Dec. 7, 1941.

none of the others comes close

Time was that John McCain didn't think John Kerry should talk about his Vietnam experience. That's because even beyond his personal views, the service of any Republican, or their proxy admiration of someone else's service, is holy and the most important thing ever, and any Democrat's military service is fake and cowardly and made up and worthy of derision.
Also TLB's claims are still false, as the dude he points to continually as the paid rep of the foreign political party only called himself the local representative of the Mexican PRD. Dude was a volunteer. Sure, you'd like everyone else to be all up in arms that some people went to those immigrants' / workers' rights rallies, but they aren't.

"It's just going to look that way to about 80% of Americans"
ROFL.... Only in that little fantasy world of yours. Out here in the real world, of course, nobody gives a shit. I wonder if that's what drove you nuts?

I'm copying and pasting this from an earlier comment over on the Ezra side:
El Cid continues to try to deceive. This page (npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6570821) indicates that he's a "top official" of that foreign political party in Illinois, not just a "fan" as El Cid stated.
Now, El Cid has come up with a similar lie. Instead of a "fan", he's just a "volunteer". I suggest trusting NPR on this, not "El Cid", who probably uses different names as the old names become discredited.
