MORE WAR FOR EVERYONE!
John McCain, speaking to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, trying his best to turn Russia's invasion of Georgia into 9/11:
"I know I speak for every American when I say to him, today, we are all Georgians,"
I think I speak for most Americans when I say:
"Does he mean the state?"
In all seriousness, if the battle over South Ossetia is 9/11, then didn't McCain just commit us to a military response, since that's how the United States responded in the aftermath of the WTC attacks? The election hasn't even happened yet and he's trying to start new wars.
Some people might call that "presumptuous."

oh, its much worse than that. McCain wants all of these tiny countries to be full NATO members, while he wants to kick Russia out of the G8. if McCain had his way, we would be commited BY LAW to a military response every single time one of these former parts of the USSR has any kind of armed rebellion, separatist movement, conflict with Russia or a neighbor. McCain will have countries likely to fight one another, together in NATO! we'll be invading on BOTH SIDES in ridiculous proxy wars we have no business being anywhere near if he becomes President.

I think it means that Georgia's going to attack a country that didn't have anything to do with the invasion and then denigrate us for opposing it.
At least that's what happened when the Paris newspapers said "We are all Americans" after the 9/11 attacks.

Listen, we’ve got our own little tinhorn dictator to deal with—at least until November. We don’t need to be going over to the Black Sea coast to find another one to cozy up to.
The Georgians just found out it’s unwise to poke a bear with a sharp stick when all you’ve got to defend yourself with is the sharp stick.

others might call it "insane"

The Georgian "nation state" is a preposterous, venal, brutal farce. The whole region would be better off under Russian rule again. Since we can't do anything about the situation anyway, we shouldn't sweat it and definitely shouldn't be following the advice of mcinsane.

That might have benefits, though.
"Mr President! Armenia has invaded Azerbaijan, and they're both Nato members! What do we do?"
"Send the 101st Air Assault to Armenia and the 1 MEU to Azerbaijan. Let's get this Army/Navy rivalry sorted out once and for all!"
