BIN LADEN/PAUL 08! In his new tape, bin Laden name checks Chomsky, chides that "People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning," and says, "There are no taxes in Islam, but rather there is a limited Zakaat [alms] totaling 2.5 percent."

So he's a mixture of flat taxer and anti-imperialist. Sounds like someone else we've got. So I'm just saying: A bin Laden/Ron Paul ticket would really liven up this race.

COMMENTS

He must know every time he praises the Democrats he helps the Republicans. So to with his "November Surprise" in 2004. Why can't the public see that bin Laden is desperate to perpetuate the Bushism that provides fuel for his movement?

This guy should be considered for a cabinet post in the next Democrat administration.

Sounds like Bin Laden has taken Republican media training--the zakaat is assessed based on wealth, not income.

Just leave out the little detail of no personal freedom due to total submission to Islam, and yeah, he's just like Ron Paul.

Ron Paul doesn't believe in the separation of church and state. There's another similarity between the two.

The fact that Ron introduced legislation to put a Letter of Marquee and Reprisal (read: a fat bounty) on Bin Laden's head might spoil the ticket.
