THE COALITION OF PEOPLE AND GROUPS WHO MAKE CANDIDATES SAY STUPID THINGS ABOUT THAT STATE NEXT TO PALESTINE IN THE MIDDLE EAST. I urge folks to read Garance's post arguing that Hillary Clinton's crazily rightwing perspective on the Israel/Palestine conflict isn't the product of sincerely held beliefs, but rather a pander to a coalition of savvy activist groups and wealthy advocates who're singularly committed to guaranteeing continual American support for a Likudnik view of Israeli politics, and are particularly powerful in New York politics. I'd suggest, for linguistic convenience, that we call this "coalition of activist groups and advocates" a "lobby," and distinguish them from other lobbies by saying the name of their issue (Israel) before we say "lobby," but then I'd get called an anti-Semite.

It would be funny if it weren't so tragic and pathetic that folks who question a U.S. (and frankly, Israeli) foreign policy that, viewed objectively, does not seem to make Israel a whole lot safer or more secure or more economically viable, are labelled anti-semites. I don't understand how "perhaps a slightly less aggressive stance might be productive" is read as "we should have surrendered yesterday"

Ezra, if you weren't an anti-Semite, you'd call it "That state next to Egypt."

I'm a bit sick of Hillary's supporters pretending that she doesn't believe in what she believes. They have proven themselves to be pro-hillary shills that don't give a fuck about honest reporting. They only care about covering their candidates ass.

Uh, Jerusalem actually is Israel's capital. So how can saying so be "Likudnik" or crazily right wing? As Garance points out, you're reading nuances into "undivided" that aren't there.
Do Edwards and Obama have a different position? Hilary's position is utterly mainstream, so I'd be surprised if that's true.
