Some jokesters have built a fake New York Times homepage for July 4, 2009, imagining a progressive America. The biggest news of the day is a withdrawal of all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. My favorite headlines:

The online version has fake display ads as well! American Apparel unionizes workers; GM brings back the electric worker. Brilliant!

There's no more Arts or Culture or Sports in the Brave New World -- must be kind of a dull place. But one can ride bikes.

Would've enjoyed getting one in person, but who knows where to find?

There was a stack down by one of the exits at the 34th St/Herald Sq. station today and another guy handing them out up on the street. I am now kicking myself for not getting one, but some of my classmates ran down the story behind the fake paper:
